About the Montclair, Glen Ridge and Bloomfield, New Jersey Area I can help you buy or sell a house anywhere in New Jersey. But I specialize in Essex County. For those considering the area for the first time, here is a little bit about my towns: | | | | Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair | |
Montclair New Yorkers often describe Montclair as an oasis in the suburbs. With a diverse population of more than 35,000 people, dozens of restaurants, movie theaters, and frequent cultural events, Montclair has an urban feeling that attracts creative people and professionals. It also appeals to people who appreciate mature trees, parks, gardens and a varied stock of older homes ranging from $400,000 to $4,000,000 ornate Victorians and clean-lined craftsman colonials. A quick bus commute and direct trains to Hoboken and Manhattan have brought high property values and new condominium projects. Residents tend to be very loyal about this town. Glen Ridge Glen Ridge is a small community (about 7,000 people) known for its top-rated schools and impressive boulevard bordered by big trees and palatial homes set back on beautiful lawns. Glen Ridge offers an excellent supply of starter homes, i.e., three-bedrooms in the Cartaret Park neighborhood to the south. Glen Ridge maintains its dignified look with strong historic preservation rules and gaslights glowing along the streets each night. Direct train service to Manhattan departs from a historically restored, train station where commuters can get a cup of coffee, watch flat-screened television, or play billiards while they wait. [did I make up the billiards thing?]
Bloomfield With about 45,000 residents, Bloomfield is a big urbanish town that offers an excellent direct-train and bus commute to New York City. Neighborhoods range from an old-fashioned downtown shopping district (currently under revitalization), a historic residential area with great Victorian homes, and picture-perfect section of suburban streets bordering Brookdale Park. Other attractions: some top-rated elementary schools, a vibrant community theater, and terrific Asian restaurants on Broad Street.
It's my job to know EVERYTHING about Montclair, Montclair, West Orange and Glen Ridge! Ask me any question. Or request a FREE information package. There's no obligation, and I promise to get back to you quickly...

First Time Buyers >A Realistic Evaluation
Your real estate agent's job is to find you the perfect home, in the right location, with all the amenities you want--and at the right price. It is the home inspector's job to find any skeletons in the closet -- or in the plumbing, wiring, roof, basement and beams.
The inspector won't pass or fail a home based on what he or she finds, but will go over the house thoroughly to help you understand the condition of the property you are buying. If there are any serious problems, your inspector can give you a realistic idea of how much the repairs will cost. If there are material defects that were not reflected in the asking price, you will have the opportunity to re-open negotiations with your sellers before you commit to the purchase. A good inspector will also explain the operation of the basic emergency systems such as the main water cut off valve and the circuit breaker box, and will go over items that will need routine maintenance.
If you are buying a house, we recommend that you make a professional home inspector part of your home purchase team.
